WHERE THE SACRED MEETS THE SILLY

This is the part they don't usually see - and the part that matters most.

I get it. Praying for the person who is attempting to take you down or ruin or indirectly are just awful or whatever the situation is feels so off balance. Until you surrender.

When you realize that your life is so much smoother and so much calmer and “better” when you simply surrender to God’s will, prayer for your enemies becomes a bit easier.

Also, if we want this world healed and we want people to know God, praying for those who do not know Him and those who are evil or awful or just mean helps the cause.

So hit those knees and let’s heal the world with God.

Matthew 5:44 (Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount):
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you

For showing them to stand up for their faith and not be ashamed. To show that church before a game, prayer in the end zone, silent praise in the outfield, talking openly about the work it takes and the relationship that’s most important is what we all should be striving for.

Survival is not safety and yet so many of us make that mistake.

I have lived in fight-or-flight for years and called it “strength” and “healing” but it wasn’t. It was genuine, raw survival.

I can show gratitude for my survival because it kept me alive. But it never made me free. I have been a prisoner to survival without ever knowing it.

Safety is not found in shrinking, pleasing, or hustling.
Safety is in God’s covering.
Safety is in obedience.
Safety is in walking fully as who He made me to be.

If you feel this, know I’m here for you. I’m praying for you and I’m cheering you on.

I don’t know about you, but I refuse to worship survival anymore. 🔥

Sometimes after my early morning lift I go in this room and just sit. I walk in with the intention of stretching and core work but I sit. I sit and pray. Think about life. Find gratitude in the hardest of situations.

The stillness of the yoga room brings me a sense of calm separated by only a door to the chaos of the gym. And it’s like another world. One of these days I’ll start my practice back up. But for now, this is the quiet I seek to be able to solidify my foundation daily. Set myself right in Him to move forward for us.

Find some quiet today. Say thank you. Be grateful for something today that seems impossible. And go be great.

I used to wait for motivation. Or inspiration. Or some kind of miracle routine that would fix it all. Always waiting for Someday or the Right Day or some other day than right now. Because it made sense to have a plan and when you have a plan, you plan a start time.

But here’s what I’ve learned…Healing isn’t passive. Becoming isn’t accidental.
 And the life you want doesn’t bloom on its own based on hope. It takes prayer. Belief. Hard Work.

You are the one planting. You are the one pruning. You are the one choosing what takes root.

And you know what? Deep breath…That doesn’t mean hustle. 
It means intention.

If you’ve ever gardened, you know you can find solace but you also know it is not easy. It’s hot, dirty, full of bugs, frustrating when the harvest is not what you were expecting, full of gratitude when the harvest exceeds your hope, and everything in between.

But the thing is…the hard work is not the grind. The hard work is asking the hard questions and answering them truthfully for and to yourself, not simply telling yourself what you think is right. In the garden of life, is what you are sowing what you are wanting to reap?

It means asking, “What do I actually want to grow here?” — in my body, my home, my thoughts, my rhythm.
This moment… this sip… this light… it’s all part of the tending. What do I want to grow?

And here is the spoiler…you don’t need to control the whole garden. WHAT?!? I know, it seems crazy to think that you don’t need to control everything. And I KNOW how hard it is to let go of control, especially when it feels like you actually have none and you are holding on even harder. But you can do it. You NEED to do it. For you. For your people. For your health and your sanity and your progress and your success and your faith.
 So for me? I just need to show up with love in my hands…and most likely a protein iced coffee.

You? Find your joy. Find the love you can spread around your life. And show up not just for others…but for you, as well.

I used to have Snapchat for the filters….because they’re super entertaining for kids and when we had a million and one places to sit, it helped. (And lets be real, its entertaininging for us grown ups too)

Well, I recently found it again and my favorite filter. But thats as far as it went. So instead of doom scrolling through games and filters, I’m listening to podcasts and reading and doing a lot of work on myself these daysys

And that’s exactly where this journal was born. In the work. The desire for growth and change.

90 days of inner work. The kind that can hurt and heal and bless all at once. The kind that you may have to put down for a day or two or three to really feel through the prompts. The kind where you come out on the other side different.

I’m starting up my own journal. The perspective is different when writing it versus participating. So here I am, walking the walk.

There is something about being at the lake in the early morning calm with this one. It’s where his soul lands and where his heart calms. A really great start to the day today…and it doesn’t hurt that the first cast of the day resulted in a massive catfish!

Sometimes where you are is exactly where you need to be.

I don’t rest well. Like, at all.

But something I’m learning is that I’m no good if I push the real hard walls. Not the “I just don’t feel like doing it” moments. Those I push through because things need to get done.

But the “I feel every ache deep in my bones and my body is not functioning because I need to rest my head and heart and body and soul”. That where I am learning to listen.

So this afternoon, that’s what I’m doing. The old me would never admit it and would never show it. But today? This girl is in sweatpants and a hoodie and on the couch for the time being because everything in me is craving the slow.

One of the lessons I learned and truly took to heart while writing my journal and masterclass is just how much I need to listen. To my heart. My body. My soul. Seeking the alignment and respecting the boundaries.

Faith is believing in something without the ability to see it, touch it…use your five senses on it. Faith brings in your higher faculties and allows you to ascend into a level where it’s not about you or anyone else. It’s about what you believe in.
I’ve been saying it since 2024… 2025 is going to be epic. It already is, in its own weird and twisty way. But we can’t always except epic to be easy, can we?
This space I’m in is sacred. This space is ours. It’s wild and free and uninhibited. It’s unknown and beautiful and full of the answers of all of our questions.

Where are you headed in 2025?

Blending a family is the wildest thing.

There are many ways people handle this and while I don’t believe there is a right or a wrong way, I do know which way is right for us.

In my opinion and experience, to blend a family you have to be willing to work together. To blend parenting styles. To combine rules and expectations. To collaborate and communicate. To have patience and grace. To erase any lines and remove any obstacles.

Our kids are our kids. It doesn’t matter who is biologically whose. In this house we have a family of seven. There are brothers and sister.

My dream…

is to have people on the outside have no idea we are a blended family because we gel so well.

To go from “blended family” to “family”

To have the kids erase the lines and see our family. Period.

For Jason and I to love each kid as our own and as we would want the other person to.

For us to love the kids enough to put them on the right path, even when it’s the hardest thing to do.

For Jason and I to continue forging this family day by day. For these kids to know how much we love them and how much we fight the world to make this happen.

This family of mine is everything I’ve ever wanted. We have tough days and easy days. We have busy schedules and big attitudes. We have the ability to say “I’m sorry” and “you were right”. We have goodnight hugs and “I love yous”.

We have each other. In a circle that’s ours. No lines. No breaks. No separation.

The blending has happened. Now we live.

Life is short. I’ve lived a lot in my lifetime and I’ve wasted a lot of time. I’ve censored myself. Made myself small. Explained myself. Sabotaged myself. Thought less of myself. And completely disrupted life for those I love and myself.

No more.

Call me unbothered.
Call me unfazed.
Call me ready to stop giving a f*%k.
This era is MY era.

Four years ago I went out. I FaceTimed Sam the entire drive and kept my location on because she was convinced I was going to be abducted by a serial killer. (She watches too much crime TV)

I like to say “I took a chance” because that’s what people say when they go out with someone new.

The funny thing was…I knew exactly how it was going to go. I knew how this story was beingg written. There was no doubt in my mind. This was my forever. True forever. Finally.

Since that night we have been anything but ordinary.
Our story isn’t a fairytale.
Our story isn’t traditional.
Our story isn’t all sunshine and flowers.
Our story is about redemption and finding joy amongst the pain.
Our story is about patience and kindness. Gratitude and love.

And while the life we both saw for ourselves looks drastically different than real life, this life we have created is better than anything we could have had apart from one another.

We were made for one another. There is no doubt. And I am so thankful every day for saying yes to that date.

What has changed?

I’ve watched my people get torn down.

Friday date night at the gym.

Working out with your partner is one of the best ways to increase intimacy. You’re sweaty. You’re out of breath. You’re wanting to strip off clothes. Yes yes and yes. 🥵

Even on days like today where I feel less than sexy or confident in my body…a glance across the gym, a smirk in the mirror, feeling his stare while I lift next to him or his touch on any part of my body lights me up.

We usually hit the gym in the morning but I may really love this weekend evening gym session. The most difficult part will be staying at the gym for our entire workout 😉

2024 was meant to be my year of growth and success. All the things were going to go my way. I felt it.

Funny story but it was everything but. 2024 taught me the art of surrender. I was pushed to listen…to God, to the lessons in every challenge, and to the quiet moments of reflection.

If I’m being honest, I went backwards in many ways.

This year was an absolute masterclass in patience and understanding my own rhythm. Or at least starting to…

Instead of forcing growth, I learned that growth isn’t achieved on my timeline but on His. I learned that what I thought was enough just clearly was not and that I am not only capable of so much more than I give myself credit for but I am destined to be truly extraordinary.

With these lessons learned, I’m setting the stage for 2025 to be truly epic. In business, I’m ready to build with intention. In life, I embrace each moment with gratitude. And in love, I open my heart to the deepest connections.

Here’s to 2025 - a year ready for breakthroughs…because sometimes, the greatest growth comes from learning to let go.

I absolutely love our trees at night. I’m finally enjoying them tonight with the kids all in bed. My mom’s train set. My grandma’s ornaments. Ornaments from both our childhoods. Handmade ornaments from this year. Jack’s train. Christmas magic at its finest.

I may not have any biological brothers but I hit the jackpot with this one when he married in.
My kids are blessed with a few men in their life they can look up to and count on and lean on, who hold the title of Uncle, but Brad Kleine was the original.

From the first time I met you while pumpkin carving, I liked you. The bar wasn’t high (hahaha) but you flew right past it. I’ve been grateful for you ever since.

Happiest of birthdays, Brad. We love you and miss you. Thank you for always being there for the ups and downs and helping these kids not miss a beat.

And thank you for helping to instill Jack’s incredible, sarcastic wit. 😂

Discernment is everything.

I have been a people pleaser and a creature of habit and always look to find the good in others.

Thats gotten me burned more times than not but as I dig deep into discernment and truly mean in to Him, I’m finding those qualities in me are “needed” less and less. Because He knows who I am and what I need. Much better than I do.

I’ll be honest. Most often I feel like my best needs to be better.

For my kids.
For my relationship.
For myself.
For the world.

But when we can look at our best in a given situation and release the “I wish it was more” in that moment, it allows our growth on the other side.

We should always strive to be better. But we should never sacrifice our wins to do it.

God gave us today. Maybe it’s a challenge. Maybe it’s the best ever. Either way, it’s yours.

In the season you are in, acknowledge and celebrate your wins. Be enough. Allow your best in every moment to be enough. And then allow God to expand your best even more.

If you’re a mama going through a tough battle, know that there isn’t anything anyone else can say or do. You do your best. Every day. You honor God. You strive for greatness for your kids. You show them the fight that their mama has. And you surrender the rest to God and show those kids His part in their life.

And ignore the noise and hate and lies and doubt.

Because without Him, it’s all darkness for nothing.

God wins.

I’m not asking SHOULD you love yourself. That’s an easy answer for us all.

I’m asking WHY should you love yourself.

Thoughts?

“The test didn’t work on you. You have to trust yourself.” - Divergent

Who are you? Where do you fit in? Do you even fit in? What do you believe? What do you stand for?

You know these answers. Trust yourself enough to answer them.

“I want you to choose who you truly are. And where you truly belong. Not on a whim. Not because you wish you were someone you’re not. But because you honestly know yourself. I want you to choose wisely. And I know you will.”

Stand strong in yourself.
Stand up for what you believe.
Prepare for the fight.
Fight for what is right.
Trust in Him.
Be His warrior.

And always remember, the war is already won.

I’m going a bit off script here. But I’ve been diving back into my nerd behaviors and food research.

I’ve got a couple of things I’m looking to accomplish and it’s been so fun.

Most times people who experience heartburn or indigestion believe it is an over-abundance of stomach acid, but it’s actually the opposite.

Low stomach acid is the culprit. I know, I was shocked, too.

And the thing is there’s an easy fix. I’m no doctor nor do I claim to be, but I know this works for me.

30 minutes before your largest meal, take 1/2 - 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar in warm water. Adding the ACV triggers your body to start making more stomach acid and preps you for your meal.

I just started this and it’s been making a huge difference. I use 1/2tsp currently because I really struggle with the vinegar. Because, gross. But it’s worth it because it’s working.

I’m in my “healing from the inside out” phase.

A good friend said this to me last week and it changed my perception.

All that is happening, is allowed to exist.

WE ARE MOMS, not prisoners.

I love my businesses. I truly do. And I know you do, too.

But in the world of summer approaching and sports schedules and recitals and homework and tutors and chores and all the things…how do we keep it up?

Here’s the thing…yes, we can plan. And prep. And we SHOULD.

But if you’re in a space where you need to be able to enjoy your family for a day or two without worrying about engagement or posting or algorithms or numbers, I’ve got your back.

There’s a few things you CAN do without completely abandoning the hard work you do most of the time.

1. PLR products in a digital market place: this is a great way to have your business work for you. Sure, you still need to market yourself but you can have your products in your store for whenever someone wants to buy! 3. IT IS WHAT IT IS: this attitude has been a gamechanger for me. My mentor @proctorgallagher said this many times. You cannot change the past and you cannot redo a moment, so take what you’ve done and make it better the next time. Stop focusing on what you “should have done” and just do the thing now moving forward.

Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. If you are blessed enough to own your own business, work from home and your phone and have a flexible schedule…embrace it!

Set yourself up with the automation, systems and mindset to succeed in the moments you do not want to miss!

I WISH I DID THIS SOONER…

💪🏻 1. DIGITAL MARKETING - I’ve been in Network Marketing for a decade and built my businesses online, but I disregarded other options of income and focused solely on my NWM business.
Digital Marketing is such an incredible way to add value to your online presence and a great way to make true residual income. Add in PLR products and you’re legit in business for such simple work.

2. THINK HARDER ABOUT MY PARTNERSHIPS - I got with some great people in Network Marketing but there were some things missing. I am currently with a company I wasn’t sure about, if I’m being honest. But I sat back and watched. I watched someone I admired in the industry and asked questions. I saw what she was doing.
And I was intrigued.
Deciding to partner with her brought support and systems on top of great products and a company I was wrong about. As I am getting started I am seeing the leadership and duplication and mindset work I was craving. And I’m stoked.

3. AUTOMATE MY BUSINESS - this one is HUGE. I am still a baby in the automation game but I’m learning more and more and am getting more and more excited.
Being able to interact and engage while watching football or volleyball or baseball is a game changer to being a working mom.
My kids know me with a phone in my hand and I am determined to break that habit and perspective in 2024. Automation is so key to that!

So all of you working mamas out there, building your businesses in the folds of time you have…make it more simple on yourself!

Being a mom is the best job and the job where you likely doubt yourself the most.

I’m a really good mom. I know that. But more days than not it seems I question myself.

Am I doing enough?
Am I doing too much?
Are they going to be okay?
Are they completely messed up?
Are they good people?
Will they be good adults?
Are they God’s warriors?

So mention someone here who is a great mom doing great things. Let her know you see her and love her and admire her.

Planning ahead makes for success.

I used to be REAL good at this but the past handful of months (probably longer) I have fallen off the wagon of all the things that made me tick.

I could give you a million excuses but at the end of the day it’s simple - I chose to be lazy.

As I regain my mental strength and clarity I am seeing old habits and I am seeing what it is I’m doing. And awareness is key to any lasting change.

So today…I got back into Sunday prep. We are set for our meal plan and we are ready to tackle our week, one bite at a time.

It’s not fancy and it’s not as extensive as I will get back to but for now our fridge and freezer is full of prepped meat…because we eat a lot of it.

All of those things you would like a break from…I would give anything to have.

May is mental health awareness month and I cannot talk about it without talking about the effect single parenting has on my mental health.

I hate that I don’t have my kids 100% of the time. I didn’t get married and start a family to do it half time.

Birthdays, holidays, school things, random Tuesdays….i don’t want to miss them and it weighs on me.

Because it’s not just about me. It’s about them not having their mom with them.

The argument “well they also need their dad” holds no weight to me. Because it’s not just about me wanting them here. Why do kids need to suffer and lose a parent for half of their lives simply because someone changed their mind?

It’s such an interesting place to be. Am I better off now? Yes. Are my kids going to be okay? Yes. Is Jason an incredible influence and role model for them? Yes.

I love my life now. But I hate parts of it.

It’s on my mind and my heart constantly. My kids have to deal with growing up fast and situations and worries they shouldn’t have to.

And that’s the ugly truth about coparentjng.

So next time you come across a mom on her “off” weekend, please don’t ask if she enjoys the time off or what she is doing without the kids or how much you would love a break.

Because she is likely filling her time with a million things, doing her best to enjoy it all, otherwise she will make herself crazy missing them.
